This week’s Home Work

Here is the answer to that age old question: Do I have any homework tonight?

The answer is…………. Yes, yes and yes………….and that includes spring break and all vacations (except summer break)!!!

Every week you have two mini-projects due. One for Language Arts and one for Social Studies  :-) Occasionally you will have additional work sheets, but that will be assigned in class and based on class and individual needs.

Language Arts: Reading Log Project

This is due on Friday. We will be grading it together in class using the rubric during our settle in time. Please make sure you are prepared. The details for the RLP is listed on this blog under Reading Log Project.

Social Studies: Current Event

This is not your typical current event activity. The details for this project is listed on this blog under Current Event. We will be grading it using the class rubric in class during Social Studies Settle In on Fridays. Yes, the CURRENT event must be on Africa, Asia, or Australia. Can’t find an article about those continents? Check the web links I gave you. There are three web links to news papers in those continents.

Typical Questions:

What if we start the school week late? The work is still due on the last day of the week.

What if we have an early release? The work is still due the last day of the week.

What if we don’t have class on Friday? The work is still due the last day of the week.

What if I’m sick? See Class Procedures on this blog

What if I have had a family emergency? Let me know and we’ll work something out. Be ready to provide proof.

What if someone stole my homework? Perhaps you need to file a police report ( or at least see our grade level AP) Once you have filed the report I will give you an extension.

What if I lost my homework? First time I’ll let it slip with a warning ( see late work policy in class procedures). After that……we’ll have to talk with your parents.

What if I forgot to do my homework? Bring it in the next day (see late work in class procedures)

What if I really did my homework, but I forgot it? I suggest you call a parent/guardian and have them bring it in at the end of the day (See late work in class procedures).
