Hello my wonderful students and parents!! We are off to a awesome start to the year!
Booking With the Pack: We are in the Lead! Our team has decided to join the Wolf Pack competition and have agreed to read one book a week all the way through November 20th. They of course do their RLP’s on this book! The winners of this school wide competition get an incredible field trip to the NCSU Basket Ball game and several other amazing rewards. So far the Lion’s team is leading the pack
Guest Speakers: We have had our first guest speaker of the year! Mrs. Florian graciously came in to talk to the students about writing, and technology. She even allowed our students to be one of the first to test out an incredible new writing site.
Field Trips and Team Celebrations:
Looking ahead we have several field trips coming up and our monthly Character/birthday team celebrations!
Imax: Our first field trip will be in just a few weeks. We will be going to see A Christmas Carol at the IMAX theater. This of course links directly with the short novels and plays we will be doing close to winter break. Please keep an eye out for this field trip form. It is due back on October 26th with the $11.00 for the trip! Please make sure to get this back in as soon as possible. If there is a conflict with the cost please let us know!
Kanki:Our next field trip will be in December! As we explore the Asian culture we will be visiting Kanki to immerse ourselves in Asian cuisine!
NC Zoo: Our final field trip will be in March to the NC Zoo! We will be exploring the African continent. As with the other field trip we will need both parent volunteers and financial contributions to cover the cost of the trip for children who have been hurt in these hard economic times.
