Hello my wonderful students and parents!! What a wonderful year we have had so far! Can you beleive that it’s fourth quarter already?
A special thank you to all the parents who have been helping put together our monthly team celebration of character and birthdays. Without your help it would not have happened!!
Announcements:
- SPAN: Don’t forget that grades can be viewed 24/7 through SPAN. Please take the time to discuss your child’s grades with them. Celebrate their successes and encourage them to do better when they need it. If you have any questions about grades please do not hesitate to email me!
Bookin With The Pack: We won!!! How exciting. Our team read over 100 books in 10 weeks. This coming January we will be having a team celebration! Several of our team mates already received free passes to NC States women’s Basketball game in December….what a game that was!!. Great job Lion’s team! We set a goal, laid out a path and then followed through to our goal. How do you spell success? LIONS!!!!
Looking Ahead:We have just finished the last of our writing tests! We are now looking at preparing for the EOGs. Please help your child work on their Study Island account. I have set up several lessons for them to help target each child’s individual reading comprehension needs.
Breakfast For Your Head:We are about to star our breakfast for your head project. Period one will be completing it on the Clay Marble and Period 2 on an independent book they have read this quarter. If you have not been reading at home, you might want to grab a book and start reading! The projects will be due March 24th. This is a very detailed project , so don’t wait for the last minute! If you need details on the project check out the “Cereal Box Project” tab on the side.
Weekly Homework: We have Study Island assignments that are through Language Arts, and Current Evetns in Social Studies., and Study Island. This assignment can be accessed through any computer the links to the Internet. Simply go to www.Studyisland.com and have your student log in.

Social Studies Announcements:
Please be on the look for the letter that will be sent home on Monday March 16th. We will be watching all of one movie ( A Night with the Prince) and a small segment of another movie (Prince of Egypt) as we learn about the history of Asia. If you would prefer that your child not take part in this educational experience please sign and return the letter that will be sent home on Monday, March 16th.
